Please support Wards Corner legal challenge

Dear friends, the time has come for you to be our active supporters in the struggle against the Compulsory Purchase Order for Wards Corner.

Haringey Council have issued a CPO to support the developer Grainger to force the sale of the parts of Wards Corner that they need, to enable them to demolish the whole block and build private flats. No social housing, not even ‘affordable’.  Meanwhile Grainger is going ahead on the opposite corner, with building a huge tower block, 23 storeys, with 165 private flats, replacing the council’s Customer Service facility Apex House.

Launch of Wards Corner Action Plan

The N15 Development Trust Wards Corner Community Plan Action Plan Launch

25th February 2016 – 7pm

At Zumbale, 263 High Rd, London N15 4RR (just north of Seven Sisters tube, past Costas)wc1.jpg

Who is the N15 Development Trust?

The N15 Development Trust is an organisation formed of members of the local community to deliver the Community Plan for Wards Corner in Seven Sisters. This proposal was granted planning permission by the council in May 2014.

Why is this plan best for the local community?

It will restore the historic Wards Corner building and provide a genuinely distinctive landmark at the entrance to Tottenham.

  • It will realise the potential of this hidden treasure for the benefit of the local population.
  • It will promote social inclusion and sustainable restoration, instead of demolition.
  • It will represent inclusive regeneration and conservation of heritage and diversity.
  • The Community Plan will promote independent businesses rather than corporate interests.

What are the advantages of the community plan?

In 2008, Seven Sisters Market was hailed by the BBC as a “mini-United Nations.” Despite decades of neglect, the hard work and perseverance of the market traders has preserved this unique space for use by people of all nationalities. However, the site is in urgent need of redevelopment and enhancement. The Community Plan will deliver this in a cost-effective way, within a relatively short timescale and primarily for the benefit of the public.

How do i find out more and get involved?

The N15 Development Trust is always looking for more support from volunteers. Join us to celebrate the launch of our action plan to deliver the Community Plan for this iconic building.
