Haringey in Bloom is back and now’s your chance to enter…

There are vouchers and certificates to be won and incentives on offer including 20% money off vouchers to use at the Sunshine Garden Centre, N11 and Wolves Lane Nursery, N22 – available to download from the council website at www.haringey.gov.uk/hib2015

The free to enter council competition, sponsored by the Sunshine Garden Centre, encourages and rewards residents, schools, businesses and voluntary and community groups who take pride in their environment by improving and brightening up the borough by using floral and shrub displays and through environmental campaigns.

There are incentives to enter, including money off vouchers provided by the Sunshine Garden Centre e-voucher 2015 and council run Wolves Lane e-voucher 2015.

And this year we’ve introduced two new awards – Most improved front garden and Most improved street – recognising efforts made by residents and community groups to their local gardens or road in the past 12 months.

Award categories include:

  • Front garden
  • Container garden
  • Most improved front garden – new award
  • Allotment plot
  • Neighbourhood improvement
  • Most improved street – new award
  • Community garden
  • Greener school grounds
  • Business premises
  • Best overall entry encouraging wildlife and biodiversity

See the Haringey in Bloom (HiB) 2015 Awards page for full breakdown of each category.

We want to encourage all gardeners to make the most of Haringey’s green spaces and think about ways in which they garden and encourage biodiversity. Judges will look and judge each entry on whether it’s sustainable and does the most it can to encourage wildlife, as well as the impact the colour and use of plants has on its immediate area.

Sustainable gardening attracts and encourages wildlife to thrive and contribute to the enhancement of local biodiversity. We’ve got lots of tips to help you garden sustainably.
