Just for interest, your SoToAdmin is posting this map of bomb sites, produced by the National Archive Image Library. It may explain some odd bits of new-build that would have arisen from gaps left by WW2 bombs. They are not all super-accurate, eg the one on the west of the High Road where the Indoor Market is, would be the one that presumably did for the Methodist Church that was where the solicitors’ offices are now.
To get some idea of the terror of the blitz, zoom out on the map and you’ll see that London was just about blanketed with bombs. Hard to imagine, though of course this is still happening elsewhere today.
