West Green Road Pocket Park plans

Pocket Park A5 flyer-1

From the Area Regeneration Manager

There is a consultation event scheduled for TODAY on the West Green Road Pocket Park (drop in between 6.15-8pm, Premiere Cafe, 114 West Green Road, Thursday 9th October).

The Pocket Park was developed in 2013 by Gemma Aked as part of a range of projects for West Green Road (including shopfront improvements and bridge art, both of which are now being delivered).

In 2013 consultation with local businesses and residents identified support for new green spaces on West Green Road and we successfully bid for funding from the Mayor of London to deliver the project.  Since then we have been working with a local architect to develop the designs  and would like to share these with you to get your views.  Attached is a flyer with more details on this event as well as a link to the project webpage- the flyer has gone out to residents and businesses close to the site.

If you can’t make tomorrow please contact me if you would like further details or want to submit any comments (by Friday 24th October).  We look forward to working with you on this exciting project for West Green Road.

Thank you,

Suzanne

New Sainsburys opens in West Green Road

Cutting the tape

Cutting the tape

Wednesday 6th February.

Bringing proof that there is life in Seven Sisters yet, a new Sainsburys Local shop opened in West Green Road on Wednesday. MP David Lammy welcomed its arrival, especially the 30 jobs that have been created, and the vote of confidence in the area.  It will be open seven days 7am to 11pm.

The mid-sized supermarket replaces the Fair Deal store that closed in the summer. Fair Deal in turn was on the site of the former Woolworths.  This new arrival coincides with the £50,000 investment in West Green Road currently being planned. The Town Centre manager is seeking opinions re how to spend this money in a short survey:

Have your say on how you would like the £50,000 to be invested in West Green Road –

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/V9Z2S53

The survey lists three options but does give the option to not tick any of these and suggest something else under ‘other’. If you do tick ‘other’ please write in the box what your preference would be for the £50k.  Deadline Monday 11th February
